Update on Tommy Hunter

Updates on the Commissioner Tommy Hunter Comments Issue

You answered our call for protest at the Gwinnett County Commissioners meeting last Tuesday. We had a great turnout and we gave them an earful. I wish to thank everyone who joined us.

Unfortunately, Mr. Hunter did not heed our calls to resign immediately. So, the struggle goes on. The County Commissioners will meet again on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.

Next BOC Commissioners Meeting

WHEN: Tuesday, January 24, 2017
WHERE: Gwinnett Justice Center, 75 Langley Dr. Lawrenceville GA 30046 map
TIME: 7:00 PM

We have planned another protest for this meeting and WE CALL ON EVERY CONCERNED CITIZEN TO JOIN US. Please join us to collectively continue to call for his resignation.

The pressure is on and we need to maintain it, therefore I ask you to continue to call and email Mr. Hunter to demand his resignation.

This is not the first time Mr. Hunter has made inappropriate comments on Facebook. Its the first time folks have spoken up about it. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution published screenshots of several of his previous posts where he referred to Democrats as “Demonrats”, used the divisive term “libtard” and questioned if there were “any white guys” on the University of Alabama football team.

Is this how Mr. Hunter views his constituents? Please call and email the Commission Chair, your own district commissioner and all the other commissioners and insist they join in calling for Mr. Hunters resignation. See below for their contact information:

District 3 Commissioner Tommy Hunter – 770.822.7003 – – tommy.hunter@gwinnettcounty.com
Chairwoman Charlotte Nash – 770.822.7010 – charlotte.nash@gwinnettcounty.com

District 4 Commissioner John Heard – 770.822.7004 – john.heard@gwinnettcounty.com

We are not done yet! We are also planning a petition to collect signatures for his possible recall. We know that other advocacy groups share our concerns and we invite them to join us. If you belong to any such group, please have them contact me at chairman@gwinnettdemocrats.com

Finally, the planning continues. Please join us for our monthly business meeting on Tuesday, January 31, 2017,
